Kinja'd!!!

A solar/wind powered dune buggy at my local mall. Definitely the most interesting thing I've seen in a while.

I'm sorry? WIND power? How on earth is that supposed to work? The power required to push that thing through the air would be more than it would be able to make... Silly people.

I'm guessing solar power would be used for acceleration and then augmented by wind at speed. It is awfully complex for my liking but gotta give them credit for creativity.

Yeah, but the thing is, it would do just as fine without the wind power. That's what I'm trying to say here :) wind turbines on a moving car does nothing, zilch, zip, nada :)

That's interesting.

You are in Pr, Amirite?

If you are, I wonder if it was developed there.

Yes I'm in PR and it was developed by a local technical institute.

The main source of power is probably the solar cells, and the wind turbines are used for power regeneration.
